Reiki I (Beginning). Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It also works as a complementary therapy with other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Opportunity to practice and meet other practitioners provided. Reiki II (Second Degree). Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. A continuation of Reiki I, the second degree class works with both emotional and distance healing. A large part of the training received in the Second Degree is centered on the understanding and use of the symbols used to enhance this form of energy. Saturday, 21 June 2008. Prerequisite: Reiki I. Cost of $125 includes workbook, meditation CD, water, snacks, and a vegetarian lunch.
Intermediate Reiki. Reiki reduces stress and promotes a feeling of peace and well being while it energizes and boosts the immune system. Reiki can complement other health care practices. This class will emphasize deepening your ability and enhancing your methods for treating others and yourslf while promoting networking with other Reiki practitioners. Alternative healing methods will be presented. Growing your Reiki practice will be discussed. Class will be a combination of lecture/demonstration, discussion and practice time. Prerequisite: Reiki I. Summer 2008, Tuesdays 6:00-8:00 at John A. Logan College.
Reiki Master (third degree). The Reiki Master attunement furthers your Reiki connection and completes your energy field's adaptation to the Reiki energy. The first part of this class will be held on Saturday, 12 July 2008 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. During this day we will drum, spend time outdoors, meditate, and create a Reiki altar. The Reiki Master attunement will be given and Reiki energy exchanged. This class will continue to meet for a half day (dates to be decided by the class), every other month for 8 months as an apprenticehsip period. During the additional sessions you will learn how to pass level I attunements and to provide healing attunements to your clients. We will deepen our connection with our Reiki guides and do some angelic light weaving. This class is limited to 8 participants. Total cost $550.

Holistic Healing Arts in Herrin IL October 3-5, 2008. A course of study toward a certificate of completion in Healing Touch (HT) which incorporates a variety of basic to advanced healing modalities, Level 1 begins with 16.4 continuing education contact hours of instruction, allowing persons with varying backgrounds to enter, acknowledge their previous learning and further develop concepts and skills in energy-based therapy. Healing Touch Level III will be offered at A Therapeutic Touch Day Spa and Massage School in Marion IL November 6-8, 2008. Level 3 teaches the "art" of being a healer and focuses on your development as a healer through self-care and pre-session practices. This course includes development of Higher Sense Perception (HSP), advanced sequencing of healing techniques, working with guidance, self-healing and self-development.
